They are commonly found on the earlobes and have higher incidence in those of african descent/darker skin. The main issue is a dysfunction of scar tissue and wound healing. Normally when the skin is injured (i.e. ear pierced) a certain type of collagen connective tissue (type III) is laid down to form the initial scar and then later that collagen type is replaced by another type (I) that resembles that of normal skin....this is why normal scars will heal and look more and more like normal tissue until they are barely noticeable. So in keloids the wrong type of collagen is laid down and the skin's reaction to this is to just keep laying down more and more scar tissue in response. Keloids can get very large and disfiguring. They are difficult to treat because surgical removal only creates new injury and further scarring. Most people who are prone to developing keloids need to use preventative measures to avoid injuring their skin. This would be very difficult, obviously, for a professional football player who may have the helmet, strap, etc. cause injury. As I said this is what I thought it might be; however, it could just as easily be an infected cyst or just inflammation do to any number of reasons.

Re: Building A Winner Doesn’t Happen One Loss At A Time

I like what you tried to do with the post, but I think our quarterback issue pretty much disproves your point. Why? Most good quaterbacks are taken very early in the draft. Not always, but the majority are taken early.

NE: has had it's franchise quarterback for 11-12 years, and this one proves your point about quality being everywhere. Tom was taken in the 6th round, although this in my opinion is the exception not the rule

Baltimore: Flacco was taken with the 18th pick in 2008. Does this prove that quality quarterbacks can be picked up late in the first round? Not really... Very few teams picked/ needed QBs in the first round, Flacco was the second QB to go, with the exception of Atlanta who had a top 5 pick and took Matt Ryan. The teams that are picking in the top of the draft this year would not let the 2nd highest QB fall to 18.

Ind: the exact opposite of your point. Peyton was the number 1 pick in 1998. 10 years of draft data does nothing since it was further back than that.

Phi: Another team that defies your point. They had a franchise quarterback for most of the past 10 years, and guess what, he was picked 2nd in 1999. Their acquisition of vick had nothign to do with the draft

SD: Another team that doesn't work. The year they had the number 1 pick they traded down to four and got their quarterback.

Re: For The First Time Since 1937 The Redskins Are .500

Yes. If you didn't win you lost.
